2018 Grand Communication Coming Up

Saskatoon and area Masons are looking forward to welcoming you to the Grand Lodge Annual Communication on June 15 & 16, 2018.

There will be the Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday morning on June 14th at Greenbryre Golf Course with a meal to follow at the Saskatoon Shrine Club.

The Meet and Greet will be at 7 pm on Thursday June 14th.

Our Annual Communication will be held at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel (612 Spadina Crescent East) with the annual banquet on the Friday evening of June 15th.

R.W. Bro. Don Ford Becomes Grand Master Pro Tempore, 2017/18

Following the death of our Grand Master MW Bro. Randy Sherstobitoff on Sept. 30, 2017, RW Bro. Don Ford was appointed Grand Master pro tem for the remainder of the 2017 – 2018 Masonic Year.

Grand Master Pro Tempore 2017/18RW Bro. Ford was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and is a third generation Freemason: his grandfather was raised in Abernethy Lodge No. 77 in 1912 and his father in Mossbank Lodge No. 129 in 1974.

His Masonic journey began when he became a member of Queen City Chapter of DeMolay in Regina. He was received into North West Mounted Police Lodge No. 11 in 2006 and served as Worshipful Master in 2013. He is an affiliate member of Indian Head Lodge No.5, a member of Prince of Wales Chapter No. 27 RAM, Wascana Preceptory No. 51 of the Knights Templar, Saskatchewan Council No. 6 of the Cryptic Rite, Saskatchewan Conclave No.14, and a member of the Wa Wa Shrine Temple. RW Bro. Ford is currently the President of the Board of Directors for the Regina Masonic Temple Company.

After spending 25 years in bank and credit union management, he is currently enjoying a second career in real estate sales as well as being a partner in a commercial real estate development company.

Congratulations to MW Bro. Don McDonald who was recently inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame

On Thursday, September 15, 2016 MW Bro. Don McDonald was inducted into the Builder Category of the CFL Hall of Fame in Hamilton, Ontario. MW Bro. McDonald was a long time administrator of minor football in Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Hilltops. He was honoured at the televised halftime program of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Montreal Alouettes football game on September 16th.

Accompanying him to Hamilton and the induction banquet were his two daughters Heather and Laurie.
